Forniva & Veljko Jović - Stargaze EP

Velijko Jovic & Forniva make their debut on Sprout with the Stargaze EP.

Separately successful solo artists in their own right with hundreds of releases on labels as diverse as Multinotes, Selador, Lowbit and Mango Alley, it's their collaborative work of late that has raised their profiles, with plays from the DJ elite and coverage on UK BBC Radio 1 and music press including Mixmag.

Opening the EP is 'Restless'. Rolling bass bubbles and sidechained pads create instant movement before the kicks add focus and direction. Keys and subtle sonics fill out the soundspace as the track takes shape. Daft Punk-esque guitar lines add a sense of fun in the breakdown before the bass drops and the floor is a gyrating mass of positive energy once more. 'Stargaze' is more upbeat from the off. Moroder-style bass and disco stylings create a funky modern feel that marries contemporary prog with indie dance further implied by the keyboard lines and nu disco energy.
