Andy Woldman & Mike Barajas - Above

Andy Woldman makes a welcome return to Bonzai Progressive alongside Mike Barajas who marks his Bonzai debut with the superb 'Above'. Andy continues to deliver quality cuts, last outing here 'Juno Rising EP' gained great support and we know this latest effort will follow suit. Also based in Mexico, Mike Barajas joins the label bringing his brand of electronic music along for the ride. Having started out in the Hip Hop scene back in the early 2000's, he started to produce his own music where he found himself gravitate to a more Techno and Tech House sound. He also runs the booking agency, Giggers Mexico. Great to have both on board.

The Original Mix opens the release, laying a foundation of punchy beats and shuffling percussions with a strong rolling bassline dominating the low end. Emotive melodies ease into the groove as swirling arps and effervescent FX combine with a plucky analogue synth line to add wonderful textures to the sound. A top-notch slice of prog that is not to be missed. Mexican DJ and producer Fher Vizzuett debuts on Bonzai Progressive with a solid remix. Fher delivers top-notch progressive house grooves and has seen support from a raft of top jocks and artists including Oakenfold, Van Dyk, M.I.K.E., Schulz and many more. On the remix here, Fher ramps up the energy levels with a solid club fuelled groover. A tight drum section complete with chunky kicks, bright snares and crispy hats sets the rhythms in motion as deep rolling basses lurk in the depths. The main hook is wholly infectious with it's outpouring of emotion. A fantastic interpretation that will definitely keep the floors active.
