The latest release on London-based clubbing institution Secretsundaze comes from Melbourne, Australia based artist Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange. Story has it that Ziggy Zeitgeist met Berlin-based artist Wayne Snow at a record shop in Neukolln, where the pair recorded together in a converted office space – attached to a techno club. All cliches aside, there is some great material on Kreuzberg Kix Vol. 1: from the aforementioned jam with Snow called “Something Special”, an intoxicatingly soulful deep house journey, while the title track is evocative and sensual mood music for the late night in a similar vein to local hero Tornado Wallace’s earlier work. It receives a mighty fine rework by Brooklyn’s finest Ge-Ology up next.
