Following on from last year’s collaboration with DJ Plead, Anunaku aka Guglielmo Barzacchini flies solo for this killer release on AD 93 (formerly Whities). “Spirale” revolves around a throbbing, hypnotic groove and clicking percussion, with these elements underpinning tense vocals and dramatic, operatic wails. Meanwhile, “Ninfea” is more full-on and sees Anunaku drop dense tribal beats, cheese wire percussion and tranced out synth hooks. “Luminosa” marks another shift in sound, as Barzacchini ups the tempo. Dropping a rolling techno groove that is powered by steely hi-hats, it also features a dramatic finale comprising epic synth hooks and frazzled bass tones.
