Belgian disco-house stalwart George Cynnamon, whose work over the past 10 years or so has appeared on labels including Salted, Groovy Riddim, Spacedisco and Fogbank, comes to Spain’s theBasement Discos stable with a three-track EP. It opens with the brash n’ strutty ‘Blastin’, which loops up a vocal bite from Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise’ before bursting out into a euphoric Ibiza-style piano workout. But ‘Love Emergency’ offers much deeper, jazzier thrills (and a nod to the Gibson Brothers), before being given a beefed-up makeover by Bonetti, who loses most of the vocal and keys and adds incessant, parping brass instead.
