Fitzzgerald - The Morning After EP

Rising nu-disco star Fitzzgerald hails from Minsk, Belarus and recently did his first guest slot on Rinse FM. Here he comes to Sydney, Australia-based Planet Trip with a five-track EP that’s very much in keeping with current scene trends, which is to say it’s electronic/cosmic/Italo influences that predominate – no lavish Philly-style string arrangements, Rodgers-esque guitar chops or diva vocals here, just lots of glacial synths and squelchy synth basslines. The first two tracks are laidback and Balearic-leaning, the last two are energetic and electro-tinged, while in-between comes what for this writer is the EP highlight, slo-mo acid chugger ‘Obsession’.
