When Guy J launched Armadillo, he pledged to deliver innovative, artistically uncompromising, and unexpected releases. Consequently, this debut on the label took everyone by surprise, defying all expectations. Yoav Shuella is an Israeli producer who recently appeared on the radar. However, his talent didn't fall from the sky like manna, though he lives in the Holy Land. He did the simplest but most difficult thing. He started very young! While other kids were careless at playgrounds, enjoying their Legos and water guns, Yoav played with synthesizers and drum machines, using his imagination on notes, frequency oscillators, audio design, and sound effects. The opening track joins electronic percussions, melancholic pianos, hypnotic basslines, modulated arpeggios showers, and more. The perfectly scorred arrangement shifts abstract emotions from comfortable to uncomfortable and back again. The genre of electronica isn't new anymore. That's why making it sound exciting is so challenging. The second piece continues the flow from the opener but expands the frame further. Seductive and dark, it combines science fiction noises, world-music elements, and even traces of smooth jazz. You'll want to keep this one on repeat!
