Basso is best known for his Growing Bin label, which specialises - if that's really the word - in "European jazz and fusion, Krautrock, elektronik, new age, ambient, continental disco and leftfield dance music". Anything goes, is the idea generally - and he's applied that same open-minded approach to compiling this Balearic collection for International Feel, which ranges from Edwin Schimscheimer's opener 'Bon Nuit, Michelle', a gentle piano piece, to the weeded-out tropical disco-not-disco of Christoph Kneisel's 'Jungle Connection', and from Patrick Jahn & Erobique's jazzy, lounge-y 'Moonlight Shuffle' (my pick) to the full-on 80s Europop stylings of Beau Michael's 'Move Away'.
