As the cargo airlock opened, the mercenaries began moving crates and containers onto the pallet of a levitating forklift. Using holographic cloaks, the friends easily passed the guards and proceeded deep into the corridors and staircases. Around some corner, the laboratory space opened up in front of them, packed with shiny machinery and mysterious equipment. The sharp odour of ozone and rot permeated the air, and the operating tables were covered with the remains of failed experiments. A new generation prototype of a mutant soldier, a synthesis of mechanical enhancements and biomanipulation capable of conquering and exterminating entire planets, stared lifelessly from the platform in the centre of the room.
