The whitetip reef shark is a slender and nocturnal species known for its distinctive white-tipped dorsal and tail fins. Classified as "Near Threatened" by the IUCN, its population is declining due to overfishing, habitat destruction, and the impact of climate change on coral reefs. Interestingly, whitetip reef sharks can often be found resting in caves during the day, and they are known to have an impressive hunting strategy, using their slender bodies to wriggle into crevices and catch prey.
