Stefàn Dubs - Spring Tones

Stefan Dubs is one of the key members of Folklore, a collective / label that embraces a plurality of styles – and this aesthetic shines through on Spring Tones. The title track is an introspective affair that features dubbed out chords riding a scuffled garage groove, while on “Untitled Version”, the French producer moves into hypnotic, swirling dub techno. He shifts focus again for the aptly named “Bassbin Tremor Dub”, where a heavy sub-bass provides the backdrop for tripped out shanty vocals and layers of effects. The release takes another turn on “Lion Last”, with Dubs continuing his voyage into the heart of smoky, mid-tempo music for the head and feet.
