Getting a little hot under the collar is Out of the Dark – Part 2, the second edition of Jigglers latest creations. Another six-pack of luxuriously experimental sounds, these cuts lead straight to dancefloor temptations. Glitchy hi-hats and heavy basslines launch Nebula out into the cosmos. Black Sun is twinkling keys, a smoke-and-mirrors ride into the sunset of tech-house wonders. The Jiggler takes a more downbeat tip with Sparkles, whomping beats underpinning a fruity, carnivalesque vibe. Venom is sweet poison: a straight-laced toe-tapper, which spirals into clapped-out grooves. Referencing the foggy, nebulaic state where you can lose yourself, Daydream takes you to a place where shapes and borders shift. Make the people dance! Vision is a punchy finale, an aural experience of the shifts between light and dark. A by-product of the deceleration experienced by Jiggler and the global music scene during the COVID-19 pandemic, the albums Out of the Dark I & II bear witness to the undeniable truth that music, dancing and connection are fundamental parts of our society, which must be celebrated and cherished no matter what.
