Thule is one of the longest-running labels in northern Europe and was instrumental in introducing techno to Iceland. As it celebrates a quarter century in operation in 2020, it also puts out its 25th release. On Transparent Thoughts, label mainstay Thor teams up with Matt Thibideau to deliver the dub techno sound that the label is renowned for. In its original version, the title track is a deep, flowing groove, teeming with layered chords. Thor’s take turns it into a leaner, stepping affair, while the Altitude version is a slightly more forceful groove that will appeal to fans of Chain Reaction, Thule’s 90s dub techno peers.
