The Portuguese musician and producer Oma Nata returns with the new EP Console, out on the new label and imprint Emotional Software.
‘Forever With You’ imagines the end of a house party. Merging the many endings of multiple nights, this is the track you hear at the back of your mind, when you find your teenage crush dancing alone. Towards the end, a surprising catchy vocal chorus, with a touch of 1990s sincerity kicks in, surging to lift your heart like a balloon.
‘Confusing To Her Feelings’ has an ambient techno touch with a downtempo cadence. It brings together melodies from haunted dance floors, as a voice tells us her dos and don’ts, what she likes – j’aime.
‘Console’ is about consolation, appreciating the here now, pulses in the present alongside the intangible past. It starts as a dreamy requiem, mellowed by soft ear-worm vocals that appear out of the mist, that feeling of being on the other side of the wall, then entering a warehouse room where a roomy techno kick drum booms.
