Finnish producer Jani R is a brand new addition to the Silk Sofa roster. Also known for his techno project that has been around since 2002, Incolumis (of JOOF Recordings fame), Jani blesses us with "Collision", a unique collection of six brilliant downtempo and chillout cuts. "All The Beauty" contains an outstanding and hypnotizing soundscape, spiced with a vast array of lush synth elements and smooth percussion grooves. A beautifully crafted string ensemble introduces "Under The Radar", and throughout the track a number of delicious sound effects emerge for extra texture. "Second Chance" quickly establishes a truly mesmerizing atmosphere with a haunting percussion line, and the surrounding melody layers keep inspiring the listener. The fourth song on this release is "Collision Course", in which countless texture layers spice up the atmosphere, while soothing melodies and stabs lurk in the background.
