Milio returns to Atomnation with Veluw / You, a new two-tracker that is packed with gorgeous grooves for warmer days.
First up on the new EP is 'Veluw,' which was written in a cabin in De Veluwe, a vast forest in the Netherlands which had a clear impact on the sounds. Streams of lush melody, harmonic bell sounds and subtle clicks all unfold in loose yet elegant fashion up top and slowly but surely lock you in a trance. Sweeping strings add scale and bring plenty of positive emotions.
The upbeat 'You' flips the vibe with more textural synths, pixelated leads and smeared chords. The drums are heavy but have funk in their heels and when a wordless vocal loop and bright pads arrive after the atmospheric breakdown, pure joy is sure to wash over any crowd. This release comes just ahead of an all-new (fully improvised) live show that will be debuted at Den Bosch on May 19th, his most ambitious project yet. With no backing tracks, no pre-made loops or stems, the artist says his live set is "all about improvisation, intuition, imperfection, realizing dreams, and doing the impossible." It will be in association with the famous Willem Twee studios and is sure to give rise to plenty of thrilling and inventive new sounds we heard on Veluw, You, Nachtzon, and Afterglow.
